Restful Sleep – The Preperation

Prepare for sleep? What do you mean? I know it sounds kinda weird, preparing for sleep! Well, it is something that is very important for those of us that have sleeping issues. We can’t just go lay down and go to sleep. Our brains just don’t respond that way. Our brains are so active throughout our busy day they need time to wind down before hitting the hay.
Here are some very simple things you can do to prepare for sleep:

 Turn OFF all screens 30 minutes before bed time
 Soak in a warm bath with Epsom Salts and a calming essential oil
 Go to bed at the same time every night, you brain like routines!
 Reading for 10-15 minutes causes your brain to slow down
 Mindful breathing or meditation
 Breath in calming essential oils or diffuse at bedside
You don’t have to do all of these suggestions every night, but you will find you probably need to do 2 or 3 things. Once your brain gets its routine down, you will be able to sleep peacefully and wake up refreshed instead of on the wrong side of the bed!
